The Quipu Cup

Quipu,' the fair trade with Peru' shop in Brewers Quay was invited to have a trade stand at The Fur Fibre and Wool show held in West Sussex on Sunday 31st August. The show organisers had invited the Peruvian Ambassador to present prizes for the various competing categories. The final cup to be awarded was for the best stand and to the utter delight of the Bunney family, who were all manning the stand, Quipu won. The trophy can now be seen in the shop window at Brewers Quay.

Alongside their trade stand they also had information on their charity WAWA, raising funds to provide educational opportunities for disadvantaged children in Peru. To add to WAWA funds visitors had a chance to have a go at the Peruvian game of 'sapo', high scorers won a small model llama. Members of the Ambassadors party took their turn but none won a prize. The WAWA funds were recently boosted by £550 when Brewers Quay sponsored a Peruvian Band and 2 llamas at a fund raising day in Hope Square.

If there are any other local organisations or businesses who would be willing to sponsor, donate or help towards fund raising for WAWA please contact Mary Bunney on (01305) 788474 or at Quipu in Brewers Quay.
