Brewers Quay wins GOLD at the Taste of the West Awards 2007!

For the Taste of the West Awards, local retail outlets were judged on the follwing criteria:
- The level of South West produce in the store
- How well local/regional produce is promoted within the store (e.g. specified on shelf signs, posters etc.)
- Availability of seasonal produce
- Presentation of store
- Quality and freshness of products
- Quality and speed of service
- Knowledge of staff
- Ambience of store
- Cleanliness of store
- Value for money
- Commitment to local sourcing

Following their visit to the Village Store in Brewers Quay, the judges comments were as follows:

"With its location, The Village Store could be nothing else but a tourist food store. However, it does this superbly well - excellently laid out, spotless presentation and very pleasant staff. There is MASSES of West Country produce - all well flagged up and presented. A superb collection of West Country alcoholic drinks, chocolate, biscuits, jams, chutneys etc. - some own label but others clearly from the actual producer. For its sheer support of the region and for including many small producers brands along side their own label, I think the Village Store deserves a GOLD."

We are very proud to receive another award this year, and hope our success continues into 2008!
